Evil Eye

I wanted to write my own twist on Asteroids.....so I wrote this game and named it Objectoids! I wrote this game in 1983 and it was eventually retitled Evil Eye and published in UpTime in 1987.

By the way, in this game you are an eyeball.

My quickly cobbled-together title screen when UpTime told me they wanted it. About 30 minutes of MousePaint later and whammo - it is born. It is analogous with the big shape on the left.
I was going crazy with brute force blasting of block shapes on the screen to see how many I could get and have smooth movement. Well, I'm sure I could have done much more than this with more optimization but this was pretty good for having just gotten a handle on 6502. Yes, the shapes self-erase themselves because they're drawn with a black border around them.

The very first name of the game was Meatball Attack because the entire game was going to be that one shape. I changed my mind and added a lot of different shapes, objects, to blast and renamed it Objectoids.
